Food and Nutrition Security
We consult and qualify organisations, networks, communities and policymakers in regard to measures that take into account all dimensions of sustainable food and nutrition security: resource-sustaining food production, social and productive infrastructure, diversification, food conservation and transformation, and marketing and awareness-building activities for the consumption of quality food by all members of a household.
A few development projects we have successfully supported:
- In the “transitional-aid” project for Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) we regularly advise on issues of sustainable food security, particularly in East and West Africa. We familiarise teams and partners with nutrition-relevant instruments (analysis and survey methods, specific nutritional interventions, monitoring) in their respective contexts
- Several times a year we conduct workshops in strategic planning and implementation regarding sustainable food security on behalf of GIZ and Welthungerhilfe. This specific approach is frequently requested to prepare projects related to food security and strengthening of resilience in fragile states.
- For the BMZ ‘initiative ONEWORLD No Hunger (EWOH) we carry out extensive consulting on the implementation of standardised Nutritional Baseline Surveys in West Africa. These involve the design of an appropriate and standardised methodology for comparability between countries. Further they contribute to building a global impact monitoring scheme
